CSSF Informational meeting and Intel ISEF required forms

This linked list shows all students who can participate in the 2015 State Science Fair. It also indicates any missing items which could, if not corrected, prevent students from presenting their projects at the Fair. Category assignments for all projects were posted on the CSSF website May 6. Requests for change in category must be submitted by May 12.

A CSSF Informational meeting was held Tuesday May 5, 2015,  7-8:30PM, at the Santa Clara County Office of Education (1290 Ridder Park Dr, San Jose, CA 95131).  This is a link to the 2015_CSSF_InfoMtg presentation for the meeting.

2015 Forms for financially sponsored students and chaperones traveling to CSSF in Los Angeles must be completed prior to the fair, and turned in to the CSSF head chaperone at the San Jose Airport immediately prior to departure for Los Angeles.

Intel ISEF required forms

The following 2 completed forms are required to be brought to the head chaperone at the airport for departing Intel ISEF students May 10th

STUDENT-Behavior-Risk-2015 ISEF.

2015 STUDENT-Med-Release.  Chaperones should also complete the Medical Release form.

 

CSSF Qualified Winners are invited to attend the 2015 California State Science Fair in Los Angeles, May 18-19, 2015.

The Alternate list has also been posted.  Note: the Alternate notification letter was in error. Only AFTER you have been notified of your acceptance May 3 is your registration fee due.

CSSF Eligible Qualified and Alternate students received letters of notification at the Awards Ceremony March 29th. All have been notified already.  The list will be published here when it is published on the CSSF website http://www.usc.edu/CSSF/.

When projects have been submitted to SCVSEFA, it is then the student’s responsibility to track their project’s status on this web site. Use this “Project Status” link (lower left) to find projects and the assigned Project Numbers according to your school. If your project is a PSP (Privately Sponsored Project, not teacher sponsored), it will be listed under your sponsor’s name.

If you cannot find your project listed here, please contact the fair manager ASAP.

 

FOR YOUR INFORMATION:

TEACHERS!  Please go to the Teacher Link on this website and review all information for registration at the fair site (South Hall of the San Jose Convention Center).  Be sure to direct the students to the project Display Rules.

Middle School teachers with 6 or more projects to register may sign up for Group Check-in.

All Projects must be placed in the South Hall of the San Jose Convention Center the afternoon of March 10th.

All projects must be judged with the students present the afternoon of March 11th.  PUBLIC VIEWING is available from 5-6PM March 11th only.

ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE WINNERS’ LIST WILL BE MADE ON THIS WEBSITE by March 21st.

The AWARDS CEREMONY is scheduled for March 29th afternoon at the Cupertino Heritage Theater in Campbell and is an invitation only event.  Details will be posted here as the time approaches.

There will be a final Teacher Workshop for teachers new to the Synopsys Championship and for parents  wishing to sponsor a middle school student (or high school student with no teacher available) this week.

Thursday, January 8 from 4:45 to 6:15 PM.  (plan for a prompt start and guidance).

You MUST sign up by midnight on January 7 to attend this final workshop (send email to adburrell@usa.net).  Paperwork and seats available only for those who have signed up.

Potential parent sponsors must have filled out the on line application forms and must bring the completed and printed application with them.   Correctly filled out forms may be submitted at the end of the meeting if cheques are attached.

We are on winter break until Dec 29.  Email communication will be answered after that date.

INCOMPLETE PROJECTS

All teachers of these projects should have received a note explaining what was wrong or missing from incomplete applications.
If a teacher or student has submitted email responses and has not heard back from the SRC, please resend ASAP.
The response email note MUST list the project number in the subject line.

Please bear with us and be patient, as we are reviewing a large number of SRC projects from the Oct deadline. We are handling projects in the order in which they were received.   Check the PROJECT STATUS link daily to determine if you have permission to begin your project (Approved).  If projects are incomplete, teachers will receive notices by email for further info which is needed to approve projects..

Please join us for a student clinic or a teacher workshop to ask questions and review the “science fair process”.  The schedule is updated as new workshops are scheduled.  Check the schedule to get the most up-to-date information on school locations and room reservations.  APPLICATION DEADLINES link

2015 Synopsys Championship will take place March 10th–11th, 2015 at the South Hall of the San Jose Convention Center.  March 10th PM is Check-in Day, and March 11th PM is Judging Day.

Workshop and Clinic dates and locations will be posted as they are scheduled through October.

A printout of the online registration for the fair (page 1 of the application) must accompany each 8 page  completed full application .
