Teacher workshops answer teachers’ questions about how to fill in the paperwork for the fair and where to get help for supplies and ideas for projects.

Winners of the 2016 California State Science Fair in Los Angeles, CA were announced
5/24/16.  One hundred Synopsys Championship projects were eligible for competition,
and the results are  posted here. Congratulations to our outstanding Santa Clara
County students! We had 46 projects receive category awards, and 11 projects
receive  Special/Recognition Awards.  The Junior Division  California State Project of
the Year  Award was won by Andrew Chiang from  BASIS Independent Silicon Valley,
San Jose.

Those students chosen to be eligible to attend the 2016 California State Science
Fair in Los Angeles, May 23-24, 2016 should go to the CSSF web site and register
online.  Alternate students must also register online and will be notified  May 1st
if they can take the place of an eligible student who did not register.

 

The students Qualified to apply to the California State Science Fair should go to the CSSF website and follow all registration instructions! Registration is online and must be completed by April 19th, and eligible students (not Alternates) must send CSSF the $30 Registration Fee and Signature card by April 21st.

 

An Informational Meeting will be April 27th 6:30-8:00PM at the
Oak Grove High School Theater.

directly ahead once you enter the parking lot.

The 2016 Synopsys Championship Awards Ceremony is the afternoon of April 3rd at the Heritage Theater in Campbell.   Winners List.  Students will receive an email notice for when they are invited to attend. If the student’s email has changed since they applied to the 2016 fair, they should notify the fair manager at once.   Further details will be posted here after the fair.

Available Judge Feedback Forms for students will be sent to the teacher as soon as our volunteers can sort through all the forms.  Please be patient.

 

 

Please go to the website Project Status for your project and make sure the spelling is correct for your name.  If changes need to be made or you will NOT ATTEND, notify the Fair Administration by email.

Because the judges requested more time to interview the students, we have changed the times of judging:

High school Students will enter the hall at 1:25 PM, and remain until 6PM.
Middle school students will enter at 1:45 PM, and remain until 6PM.

FOR YOUR INFORMATION:

TEACHERS!  Please go to the Teacher Link on this website and review all information for registration at the fair site (South Hall of the San Jose Convention Center).  Be sure to direct the students to the project Display Rules.

Middle School teachers with 6 or more projects to register may sign up for Group Check-in.

All Projects must be placed in the South Hall of the San Jose Convention Center the afternoon of Wednesday March 16th.

All projects must be judged with the students present the afternoon of March 17th.
PUBLIC VIEWING is available from 5-6PM March 17th only.

Volunteers are currently reviewing 35 project applications which have come in from the final Jan 22 deadline.  Please be patient as we process these applications.

 

When projects have been submitted to SCVSEFA, it is then the student’s responsibility to track their project’s status on this web site. Use this “Project Status” link (lower left) to find projects and the assigned Project Numbers according to your school. If your project is a PSP (Privately Sponsored Project, not teacher sponsored), it will be listed under your sponsor’s name.   To understand the meaning of your project’s status, click here.

If you cannot find your project listed here, please contact the fair manager ASAP.

Do not mail applications now!  All project applications needed to be postmarked on or before Jan 22, 2016.  Hand delivery is only possible  until Jan 28th, 6pm (https://science-fair.org/students-parents/important-dates/).
