Registration for the 2017 Synopsys Championship is now closed.

Students are responsible for checking this Science Fair web site to see the status of their applications.

• Use the Check Project Status button on the bottom left of this page. Projects are grouped by teacher or by private sponsor name.
• If an application is not yet “Accepted”, but is “Incomplete”, the student should check his/her own email for a message about what more information is needed and follow up with the teacher or sponsor, if necessary.
• If an application was submitted for the Jan 26th deadline, but is not listed as a “Received” project by February 1, contact the fair manager by email ASAP.  Registration for the 2017 Synopsys Championship is now closed.

2017 Project applications must be postmarked on or before January 26th.

Projects not in the U.S. mail by 6PM Jan 26th may be hand delivered on or before February 1st to 2321 Harvard Street in Palo Alto. Please leave the application in the drop-off box on the front porch; it is checked frequently.  Also be sure a check made out to “SCVSEFA” for the application fee is securely attached to the application ($15 per individual project, $30 for team project).

The Synopsys Championship volunteers are taking a holiday break until January 3. As a result, the project status of previously submitted projects will not change until reviews start again in January. New applications will be processed and appear with a “received” project status.

1. If your project status  is “received” on this website and it was received before Dec 3, it will be handled shortly.
2. If your project status  is “received” on this website  and it was received after Dec 3, it will be handled as time permits.  Some projects require pre-approval and may not be started until approval is given.
3. If your project status is “incomplete”  your teacher (and possibly you) will have been sent an email message outlining what was missing or incorrect.  We will handle your responses as time permits between now and January 3.

If you submitted a project for the Dec 3 SRC review, please check the web site (project status button to the left) to see if we received your project.  If it is not listed there, please contact the fair administrator. Most  of the 300 + projects received will be listed as “Received”  or “Waiting for review”.  We have reviewed most projects and the status will change over the next few days.

If your project was not accepted (few were) your teacher will receive a note from an SRC reviewer that will  indicate what needs to be fixed.  Please respond as soon as possible.  The Final deadline for all projects is January 26, 2017.

The Society for Science and the Public has launched a program to provide Science News to high schools around the country.  With Regeneron’s generous sponsorship, SSP has been charged with signing up 4000 schools and we are very close to our goal.  To-date, only 250 schools from California have signed-up.   By high school population, the state would have closer to 500 schools.

Calling all north county teachers, especially those wanting to send in biological projects.
Teachers must register (email src@science-fair.org).
Teacher workshops answer teachers’ questions about how to fill in the paperwork for the fair and where to get help for supplies and ideas for projects.

The student clinic will take place in the Eagle Theater.
