2019 Changes from Last Year’s Rules and Procedures

  • The Synopsys Championship is March 13-14, 2019.
  • There are revised postmark and hand delivery deadlines for applications. The drop-off address is still 1275 Martin Avenue in Palo Alto.
  • No changes will be allowed to projects that require SRC pre-approval after the Nov 28th deadline. For projects that don’t require SRC pre-approval, the applicable deadline is January 23, 2019.
  • Application fees stay the same: $20 for individual projects and $30 for team projects. Checks or cash are acceptable.
  • ISEF changes for the 2019 fair include a new 2-page Form 1C and a new Form 7  for continuation projects. The Engineering Project Guide has a checklist for hazardous chemicals, substances, devices; human participants; vertebrate animals; PHBAs.
  • As in 2018, a teacher’s signature is required on Form 1 for every application from a student at a participating school. New: If the teacher is not the Adult Sponsor of the project, he/she may sign at the bottom of the page below the signature of the Adult Sponsor. The teacher’s signature indicates that the project is included in the per-teacher and per-school limits.
