Changes for 2021 are concentrated in the revised application process, outlined in the Application Instructions.
- SCVSEFA has adopted ISEF forms wherever possible.
- Digital signatures on PDF forms are acceptable.
- Students will upload application forms to a private Forms Folder for SRC review and, later, upload project materials, etc. to a Judging Folder.
- PayPal is a payment option.
- Each project will be identifiable by a three-character Project Code. The usual 8-character Project Number will also be assigned and used in the judging process.
The Scientific Review Committee (SRC) will review applications on a continuing basis rather than at scheduled meetings. Applying early is definitely encouraged but there are just 2 deadlines for the 2021 Championship:
- November 30, 2020, for any project that requires SRC/IRB pre-approval
- January 25, 2021, for all projects and changes
There’s some re-wording on the Application Limits page to clarify an existing rule. Application limits apply to the number of project applications, not to the final number of projects sponsored by a teacher or school.
