Winners of the 2014 Intel International Science & Engineering Fair in Los Angeles, CA were announced 5/16/14.  Ten Synopsys Championship projects competed, and a summary of the results are posted here.  Congratulations to our outstanding Santa Clara County students!

Status of recent projects submitted for final SRC review

If you submitted a project for the Dec 3 SRC review, please check the web site (project status button to the left) to see if we received your project.  If it is not listed there, please contact the fair administrator. Most  of the 300 + projects received will be listed as "Received"  or "Waiting for review".  We have reviewed most projects and the status will change over the next few days. If your project was not accepted (few were) your teacher will receive a note from an SRC reviewer that will  indicate what needs to be fixed.  Please respond as soon as possible.  The Final deadline for all projects is January 26, 2017.

Championship Winners List Posted!

Questions about SPECIAL AWARDS should be directed to the Special Awards Desk on our CONTACT page (link at top right of homepage). Major Fair Awards Posted Teachers of Championship winners, and student Winners and two guests per winner are invited to attend the 2015 Synopsys Championship Awards Ceremonies at the Campbell Heritage Theatre!  We have a two-guest-per-student limit because the theater cannot let us exceed its seating capacity, and we want everyone who wins an award to be able to attend. See the time and place of the grades 6–8 ceremony and the grades 9–12 ceremony.

  Available Judge Feedback Forms for students will be sent to the teacher as soon as our volunteers can sort through all the forms.  Please be patient.   A listing of CSSF (State Science Fair) Eligible Students will be posted here March 31st. Eligible Qualified and Alternate students received letters of notification at the Awards Ceremony March 29th.  

FINAL TEACHER’s WORKSHOP ANNOUNCED

There will be a final Teacher Workshop for teachers new to the Synopsys Championship and for parents  wishing to sponsor a middle school student (or high school student with no teacher available) this week. Thursday, January 8 from 4:45 to 6:15 PM.  (plan for a prompt start and guidance). Santa Clara County Office of Education, (1290 Ridder Park Drive, San Jose) Room location will be posted in the lobby. You MUST sign up by midnight on January 7 to attend this final workshop (send email to adburrell@usa.net).  Paperwork and seats available only for those who have signed up. Potential parent sponsors must have filled out the on line application forms and must bring the completed and printed application with them.   Correctly filled out forms may be submitted at the end of the meeting if cheques are attached.

Incomplete Projects 11-26-14

INCOMPLETE PROJECTS There are still 67 projects listed as "Incomplete" in the database.  link All teachers of these projects should have received a note explaining what was wrong or missing from incomplete applications. If a teacher or student has submitted email responses and has not heard back from the SRC, please resend ASAP. The response email note MUST list the project number in the subject line.

Project Status

When projects have been submitted to SCVSEFA, it is then the student's responsibility to track their project’s status on this web site. Use this “Project Status” link (lower left) to find projects and the assigned Project Numbers according to your school. If your project is a PSP (Privately Sponsored Project, not teacher sponsored), it will be listed under your sponsor's name. If you cannot find your project listed here, please contact the fair manager ASAP.  

FOR YOUR INFORMATION:

TEACHERS!  Please go to the Teacher Link on this website and review all information for registration at the fair site (South Hall of the San Jose Convention Center).  Be sure to direct the students to the project Display Rules.

Middle School teachers with 6 or more projects to register may sign up for Group Check-in.

All Projects must be placed in the South Hall of the San Jose Convention Center the afternoon of March 10th.

All projects must be judged with the students present the afternoon of March 11th.  PUBLIC VIEWING is available from 5-6PM March 11th only.

ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE WINNERS' LIST WILL BE MADE ON THIS WEBSITE by March 21st. The AWARDS CEREMONY is scheduled for March 29th afternoon at the Cupertino Heritage Theater in Campbell and is an invitation only event.  Details will be posted here as the time approaches.

Project Status for High School Projects requiring SRC Approval

Please bear with us and be patient, as we are reviewing a large number of SRC projects from the Oct deadline. We are handling projects in the order in which they were received.   Check the PROJECT STATUS link daily to determine if you have permission to begin your project (Approved).  If projects are incomplete, teachers will receive notices by email for further info which is needed to approve projects..
